PROSE AND PASTRIES IS CHANGING. YOU ASKED, WE LISTENED.

Introducing the 'Ink and Brew Writers Club.'

I’ve had such a great time running our in person coffee morning in Leamington Spa, Prose and Pastries, for the past 6 months. We sold out this month, and we’ve been having some interesting discussions, both in person and through our online survey, about what you really want from an in person writing group.

As a result of your feedback about writing groups, we’re going to be changing a few things at our monthly writers meet up, but don’t worry, not everything will change.

And if you’re not based in Warwickshire, read to the end as I have something exciting planned for you too.

WHAT’S STAYING THE SAME?

The venue.

85% of you said that having your own private space to write in was important, so we’ll still be having our monthly meet up hosted at the beautiful 19th century refurbished church building, The Fold in Leamington Spa.

The day and date.

It’ll still be held every second Friday of the month.

The delicious drinks to fuel your writing.

85% of you said you liked having a drink of your choice included so you’ll still be able to order your favourite tea, coffee or soft drink from The Hatch and add it to The Secret Writing Retreats tab.

The vibe.

It’s still going to be a place to chat and write alongside other likeminded writers who just need some uninterrupted time and space to get the words down.

The price.

There will still be early bird tickets at £12 and standard tickets for £15.

SO, WHAT’S CHANGING?

The name. It’s going to be called the ‘Ink and Brew Writer’s Club’ to reflect the new changes we’re making. Our next one will be on Friday 8th May.

The time. Our new time is 3.00pm-5pm. 70% wanted a Friday afternoon writing club to start your weekend, but not one so late that it interferes with family time or other commitments.

More time. 100% wanted more time to talk to one another about your writing, so our meetups will now be 30 mins longer. This is to allow plenty of time to grab your coffee and chat as a community in the communal lounge area of the Fold, before we move to our writing room for our writing session.

No pastries or snacks. Only 15% of you said that having food included was important to you. I’m pretty sure no one wants to eat croissants in the afternoon anyway! There won’t be food supplied but feel free to bring any snacks with you if you do want something to keep you fuelled for your writing session.

COMING SOON: an online version!

I’ve been talking for some time through social media to lots of writers who would love to make it to events but who live too far away. It’s early days yet, but I’m building an online version of the Ink and Brew Writer’s Club, especially for you! If you’re interested then sign up for updates to be the first to know when it's ready to launch.
